Bluffalo is a creative category word game where the most obscure answer
wins. You get a letter and categories, then race to think of answers no one
else would. An AI judge scores your creativity — or bring friends and
argue over who deserves the points. Play on any device, no app install
required.
Solo Mode
Test your creativity against the world. An AI judge scores your
answers on uniqueness. Keep your streak alive.
Party Mode
3–12 players compete in real time. Duplicate answers score
zero — be creative or be boring.
How to Play
Solo Mode
- You get a category and a letter — name something that fits
- An AI judge decides if your answer is valid and scores it on uniqueness
- Common answers score less; creative answers score the most
- One wrong answer ends your streak — build the longest streak you can
Party Mode
- One player creates a game and shares the room code
- Everyone joins from their phone, tablet, or laptop
- Each round: a letter and categories appear — type answers that start with that letter
- Duplicate answers score zero, so think creatively
- Dispute answers you think don't fit — majority vote decides

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is Bluffalo free?
- Yes — Bluffalo is free to play with ads. A Pro
subscription removes ads and increases daily limits.
- Do I need to download anything?
- No. Bluffalo runs in your browser. An Android app
is also available on Google Play.
- Can I play by myself?
- Yes! Solo Mode is the main way to play —
just you vs. an AI judge. Party Mode supports 3–12 players if you want
to play with friends.
- What languages are supported?
- English, Spanish, French, German, Italian,
Portuguese, and Dutch.
- Is my data private?
- Party mode uses peer-to-peer connections
— answers go directly between players. Solo and Bluffalo answers are
processed by AI for judging. We never sell your data. See our
Privacy Policy for details.
- Why are there daily limits?
- We'd love to let everyone play as much as
they want, but the AI that powers Solo and Bluffalo modes isn't free to
run. Daily limits help us keep the game free for everyone. A Pro
subscription helps cover AI costs and gives you unlimited play.
